Often when people think of exercise, grueling workouts and blood, sweat and tears often come to mind. However, exercise doesn’t always have to be boring and tiresome. In fact here at Altitude Adventure we have created a fun way to keep fit and the best thing about it is that the whole family can get involved! From the energetic kiddies to grandma and grandpa, Altitude Adventure is a great way to get everyone up and active without even feeling as if you’re working out.
Do you do enough exercise?
Physical activity is extremely important for us both physically and mentally so finding ways to incorporate exercise into your life should always be a priority. In the UK it is recommended that adults aged 19-64 should achieve at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise each week. A common way to achieve this is to complete at least 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week. It is also recommended that all children and young people aged 5-18 should engage in moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity for at least 60 minutes every day. So the question is, are you doing enough?
What are the benefits of being active for at least 60 minutes per day?
- Improved cardiovascular health
- Maintaining a healthy weight
- Improves bone health
- Improves self confidence
- Develops new social skills
How can Altitude Adventure help me to keep fit?
We understand that it easy to forget to prioritise physical activity in the midst of busy everyday life so we made a fun day out and working out come together as one. Here at Altitude Adventure we offer a 60 minute session on our 32ft aerial adventure for you to climb, scramble and swing over 30 unique obstacles including tricky tightropes and a floating walk the plank challenge! An hour of moving around discovering our obstacles is a great way to sneak in your cardio and keep the body moving! Not only that but many of our obstacles require focusing on balance which is amazing for improving core strength and helping you get that little bit closer to the washboard abs you’ve always dreamed of. Balancing exercises are also extremely important for enhancing and strengthening the muscles in the lower leg which contribute to the movement and support of the ankle. You manage to get a full body work out and work up a sweat without even noticing, RESULT! Another great thing about Altitude Adventure is that you can get the whole family involved (you only need to be 1m tall to participate!)
Not only can a few sessions at Altitude Adventure be physically beneficial but it can also have some positive mental affects. Activities such as this can be good for de-stressing as it is a positive way to keep your mind engaged while releasing built up stress and tension. Completing challenges on the course can help to instill positive personality characteristics such as improved self-esteem and confidence which is great as mental wellbeing plays a vital role in a person’s health.
