Pirate Cove – What makes us special?

There are many elements of Pirate Cove Adventure Golf Park, that make it unique and individual to many other golfing sites you’ve been to. We definitely have to brag about this at least once, so this blog will summarise exactly what makes us so special…

Of course (pun intended) the thing that makes Pirate Cove special is our amazing 36-hole golf course. With the choice of two 18-hole courses (Pirates and Smugglers) There are hours of fun for the whole family. No matter which course you chose there are plenty of different obstacles to play around, be it hungry crocodiles or a pesky waterfall, determined to drag those golf balls into Davy Jones’ Locker. Pirates will have to be especially careful when venturing through Smugglers cave. In the dark it can be very easy to lose your way (and your golf ball).

When venturing onto Captain Jim’s pirate ship keep your eyes out (one will do for those pirates with eye-patches) as Captain Jim himself; he gets very competitive with those crew mates on his ship.

When playing at Pirate Cove, it’s very easy to forget you’re right next a shopping centre in the middle of Kent (especially on a sunny day) as the atmosphere is that of an amusement park in sunny California. There’s always swashbuckling music to accompany your golfing, including some dramatic Pirate tunes for those intense shots. With gurgling waterfalls, gorgeous views of the cliffs around Bluewater and a sparkling lake, Pirate Cove is a little bit of sunshine, even in the middle of winter, so there’s a reason to come all year round.

At Pirate Cove not only can you play mini golf, but also sail the seas on our swashbuckling pedalos or electric Go-Go boats. The pedalos have been a pirate’s choice of boat at Pirate Cove for more than some of us can remember, but never fear – they’re still able to tackle the high seas for crews of up to four. Our electric boats are new to Pirate Cove as of last summer and let’s just say they’ve been very trustie companions for those wishing to leisurely sail our lake. With only one other place operating these boats in the UK you’d be a fool to miss out on these beauties when you come to Pirate Cove.

One thing that makes Pirate Cove especially special is it wonderful staff.  Whether your being enthusiastically greeted at the till by our front of house host or being congratulated on a hole-in-one by our Course Host everyone’s got a smile on their face. Our leisure instructors on the pontoon are always able to give a helping hand to those nervous sailors and if you ever need help with something while out of the lake, don’t worry, they’re not going to make you walk the plank. Our two most important crew members at Pirate Cove are Captain Jim and our resident octopus- Octavia, so if you see them don’t forget to give them your best pirate impressions by practice those ARGHHHs!

Even for those not planning on venturing further than the  castle grounds there’s plenty to do at Pirate Cove. We’ve got brand new arcade style machines including claw machines, sweet grabbers and foosball. Another favourite of pirates at Pirate Cove is the Bumper Cars- even Captain Jim’s had a go! We’ve also got six different delicious ice cream flavours, including chocolate, vanilla and strawberry- why not have a scoop of each? Pirate Cove also just added 4 new Polar Krush machines in: Strawberry Drift, Blueberry & Raspberry, Bubble-gum Blast and Lime Chiller. Great flavours and sugar free, so no Pirates bouncing off the walls.

Pirate Cove is located right outside Bluewater’s food court meaning once you’ve worked up an appetite, (everyone knows mini golf is exhausting, especially after all those holes-in-ones) you’re only one bridge away from lots of places to eat; be it a happy meal from McDonalds for those winners or fish and chips from Harry Ramsdens for those who ball ended up in the lake. There’s also a Nando’s, Pizza Hut and KFC just a sail away.

So, whether your venturing to the castle, sailing the sea or coming to see our swans and ducks we look forward to seeing you and hope you can see why Pirate Cove is special to us. If you do enjoy your trip let us know why you think Pirate Cove is special on Trip Advisor!
